Chapter 8 – ‘The In-Between’ (Disruptions)

So far, we’ve talked about distractions and disturbances. Distractions and disturbances
both have the potential to present impediments to your NEXT. Disruptions are no
different. We will discuss disruptions that have the potential of hindering your NEXT.
What about disruptions that catapult you to your NEXT???

1. Disruptions: A disturbance or problem that prevents an event, activity or
process from occurring. The act of preventing something, especially a system,
process or event from continuing as usual or as expected.

2. The Difference Between an Interruption and a Disruption
a. Interruptions can be temporary, while disruptions can have lasting
consequences, affects.

3. Examples of Disruptions
a. The pandemic
b. Current California wildfires
c. Loss of employment
i. All the above can be unexpected, unwanted, undeserving.
ii. Question 1: Do you see God opportunities in life’s disruptions??

4. Characteristics of Disruptions
a. Disruptions may separate you from the plans God has for you. (pg. 104)
b. Disruptions are usually unexpected (The unexpected does not define
you, but how you respond may.’ – Bishop Tim, pg. 94)
i. Question 2: How do you handle the unexpected and how do you
view your reaction to the unexpected?

c. The purpose of disruptions are to bring change or renewal
d. Disruptions can be inconvenient, but necessary

5. The other side of life’s distractions, disturbances, and disruptions are
Divine Disruptions: A Divine disruption is orchestrated by God to change the
current course in your life for His Glory!

a. A divine disruption still requires your agreement; God will not violate our
free will. (Agreement Releases Acceleration) – pg. 105
i. Question 3: What decision(s) have you made in the past or present
that has held up your NEXT?

Chapter 8 – ‘The In-Between’ (Disruptions)

ii. DISBELIEF DISRUPTS DESTINY!! If this is true, then
Belief has the potential to Bolster (support or strengthen; spring
forward) your Becoming (the process of coming to be something;
being propelled into your NEXT)! In the midst of the storm,
transition, change, you have to believe that God Is & if you believe
in Him, your disruption will become your God-given destiny!

iii. TRUST (Total Reliance Upon Spiritual Timing)
1. Life’s disruptions require TRUST in Him; anchoring our belief
that He has our best interest at heart.

b. Luke 5:1-11

i. Divine disruption will require you to change your routine
ii. It will require an effort
iii. Your disruption has the potential to affect others
iv. YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!
v. Agreement Releases Acceleration! (pg. 105)
1. ‘The attitude of agreement means that you agree to live in
concord without contention, to come to one mind, and to be
consistent with God’s viewpoint for your next.’ – Bishop Tim
pg. 105
vi. There is a sacrifice attached to your disruption. Elder Jane
prayed last week that there is a blessing on the other side of your
struggle; there is a blessing on the other side of your disruption!
